REAL Anti-anti-virus

I am wondering what brilliant minds in marketing come up with this: Norton Anti-Bot. I am NOT the person to say that "anti-virus business is a racket," but this one come reeeeeally close to it.

So, let me get this straight:

1. Buy anti-virus solution (now positioned as "anti-malware")
2. Have a bot installed on your "protected" system thru one of those IE holes
3. Complain
4. Get a response like "oh, you need anti-bot for this, not anti-malware ..."

Maybe the "av is dead" crowd does have a right to scream and rant after all...

this all assumes, of course, that there are no plans to integrate the technology into the main norton anti-malware product...

not that i'm defending them, the fact that they started charging money for it separately seems like a disincentive to integration...
