More Anti-Anti-Virus

More anti-anti-virus stuff, this time from SANS folks: "antivirus approach of the last 20 years, which is based on the assumption that you can keep up with creating "patterns" for all bad things out there, has completely outlived its usefulness."

Still, many people seem to think that this is some kinda Gartnerian :-) quest against anti-virus vendors... I dunno.

as it happens, the author (daniel wesemann) and i are more in agreement than you might think, and that blog-byte (? the blog analog [if that word can even apply in a digital world] of a sound-bite) is him quoting another article...

whitelisting and blacklisting complement each other (as one would expect from their respective names)...
